6 Signs of God's Fire in Your Life
John the Baptist said that Jesus will baptize us with the Holy Spirit and fire. “He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.” (Mt 3,11). Pastor Adrián explains that it is not exactly the same: there are believers who received the Holy Spirit but lost the fire. The fire is a sign of God’s presence. It is the same fire that Moses saw in the burning bush and through which God spoke to Israel on Mount Horeb. God speaks to us through fire – and when the fire does not burn in you, you are left to rely only on your own mind and strength.
In the Sermon he describes the characteristics of a person in whom God’s fire burns: they hear God, have a joyful heart, love God’s word, are rooted in God’s house, both speak and act on God’s word, and are full of the Holy Spirit. Fire needs fuel and God’s word creates the conditions for it to burn in you. But it is not enough just to agree with the word – you must also do it.
Pastor Adrián also talks about why your identity must grow out of Christ, why you must not give your own rules to the Holy Spirit, and why an active faith needs fire.
If the church loses God’s fire, it loses the ability to hear God. Invite Jesus, let Him fill you with the Holy Spirit and fire, and make room for Him in your life.
